Barcelona Tavern
Toronto, Ontario
In the heart of Toronto’s Liberty Village neighborhood, the Barcelona Tavern will double its year-round seating space with a uniquely designed retractable skylight. This 32-foot-long by 33-foot-deep, sloped roof is divided into two sections, one of which will telescope neatly under the other providing diners with an outdoor space that feels almost “roofless.”
The patio’s two corner sidewalls can open along their entire lengths with expansive bi-folding windows that fold out to let in abundant fresh air. Even when closed, the roof’s transparent glass panels offer open views of the skies, while the large open-concept sidewalls provide a great vantage point to see what this vibrant downtown community has to offer. Another OpenAire success story.
