The Stonehedge Inn & Spa
Tyngsborough, MA
The Challenge
The owners of Stonehedge Inn wanted to optimize the value of their swimming pool by making it useable year round while still maintaining an outdoor feel. They also wanted to match the décor of their small, high-end Inn. They were able to achieve both ends by using an OpenAire enclosure in combination with more traditional construction.
The Solution
Stonehenge Inn’s owners were able to achieve both ends by using an OpenAire enclosure in combination with more traditional construction. The result is a spectacular building that fits in perfectly with its surroundings. The cedar shake roofing and siding with green trim, are complemented by OpenAire’s green aluminum structure. The new building houses change rooms, the pool and a spa that includes a loft massage space.
Technical Information
The Stonehedge Inn pool enclosure has ten operable panels with insect screens in 5 Bays. The sidewalls have large transom windows and grill work on the interior of the sliding glass doors to give a more traditional feel to the building. The roof is glazed with 1″ (25mm) clear polycarbonate and the sidewalls with 1″ (25mm) insulating glass. The structure is built of OpenAire’s exclusive thermally broken aluminum frame painted a custom green color.
