Retractable Enclosure at Heritage El Dorado Hills’ Offers an Outdoor Pool Year-Round
New Fitness Center for adult living community in El Dorado Hills, California includes a 6,000 square-foot pool with a state-of-the-art glass enclosure
OpenAire is proud to unveil a newly-completed retractable pool enclosure designed exclusively for Lennar Homes’ new Heritage El Dorado Hills fitness center, a new addition to the Heritage El Dorado Hills, California. The spectacular new Heritage El Dorado Hills fitness center features a variety of great facilities, including pickle ball courts, lighted outdoor tennis courts, a full exercise center, a central gathering area, and a 6,000 square-foot indoor pool in a beautiful glass enclosure with a retractable roof from OpenAire. The new pool area will provide residents of this adult living community with an indoor swimming pool that opens up easily to the sunshine and warm air of summer days, but also closes securely in cold or inclement weather, creating an outdoor atmosphere any time of year.
The new pool enclosure at Heritage El Dorado Hills Fitness Center is the result of months of collaboration and construction between OpenAire and Lennar Homes. The freestanding structure features a double-sloped roof measuring 57′ 6” x 104′ 6”, two full gable ends, and two 10 foot high sidewalls. The roof is divided into nine bays approximately 12’ long with 14 motorized roof panels, which retract quickly and quietly at the touch of a button. Fourteen sliding patio doors and four bi-folding doors, all built with insulating glazed glass, allow guests to access the pool easily while enjoying refreshing cross breezes on warm days. Even when closed the all glazed enclosure lavishes abundance of natural light resulting in an outdoor feel while offering amazing unobstructed views of the facilities’ surrounding scenery.
“We’re proud to be working with Lennar Homes on this great community project,” says Mark Albertine, President and CEO of OpenAire, “We’ve collaborated closely with Lennar to make a design that fits perfectly with the larger fitness center. The structure includes some of our best features. Our engineers and designers have made a solution that is modern, and lets visitors enjoy all that the Northern California weather has to offer. It’s been a pleasure to see this project through to completion, and we hope to work with Lennar again soon.”
The enclosure at Heritage El Dorado Hills isn’t just attractively designed; the entire enclosure is framed with OpenAire’s signature thermally broken aluminum framing system. The structure stands up to all the challenges of enclosing an indoor pool since aluminum construction will not rust nor rot due to moisture or evaporating pool chemicals, while the retractable roof panels allow the moist aquatic atmosphere to be vented outside naturally. The result is an attractive, modern-themed pool enclosure that offers substantial savings on operating costs for Heritage El Dorado Hills Estates, all while serving El Dorado’s community of residents for years to come.
