Bellevue Bay Indoor Waterpark
Bellevue, Nebraska
The Bellevue Bay Indoor Waterpark is a proposed 140,000-square-foot indoor and outdoor waterpark in Bellevue, Nebraska. It’s the centerpiece of the 575-acre Bellevue Good Life District, near Highways 75 and 34, aimed at boosting tourism and economic growth. Key features include an OpenAire retractable roof, state-of-the-art water slides, a lazy river, and an interactive splash zone by Whitewater West, with connections to hotels, dining, and retail via a climate-controlled walkway. The project architects, Holland Bashamhave designed an exterior that celebrates the facility with a wavelike canopy welcoming visitors. Additional amenities like an arcade, gift shop and party rooms complete the entertainment for all ages.
Groundbreaking occurred on March 20, 2025, with construction underway and an expected opening in late 2026 or 2027. The $60 million city-owned project, run by American Resort Management, is projected to create hundreds of jobs and attract visitors nationwide.
OpenAire is thrilled to be designing and building the 60,000 sf, 185 ft wide x 316 ft long, aluminum retractable roof enclosure. An all-aluminum retractable roof is a smart choice for the proposed Bellevue Bay Indoor Waterpark, offering durability, flexibility, and energy savings while enhancing guest comfort and aligning with sustainable practices. This innovative feature supports the waterpark’s goal of being a year-round, world-class destination.
