Keith House Meeting House
Fort Worth, TX

A modern-day meeting house and site of “Come to Good,” Fort Worth Texas is the location of internationally renowned artist’s James Turrell’s 99th Skyspace, located in Keith House.

“Keith House and commissioned artwork inside are gifts from the Meta Alice Keith Bratten Foundation to the people of Fort Worth.

Interestingly, the building’s facade is constructed of limestone blocks repurposed from a Keith-family home in Wichita Falls. The preservation of history through materials adds to the location’s sentimental value.”

“The work was commissioned for the Keith House, an event space for nonprofits operated by the Meta Alice Keith Bratten Foundation. Known as Come to Good, the installation follows the typical prescriptions of a Turrell work—a retractable segment of the Keith House roof moves to reveal a skyward opening that enhances the spatial quality of the large meeting room beneath it. Accompanying the opening of the aperture is a “sunrise and sunset sequence,” wherein a series of lights color the walls of the meeting room.”

OpenAire was pleased to partner with the team at Bennett Partners, who we worked with on the Second Rodeo Brewing at the Fort Worth Stockyards, to create the retractable roof on this beautiful venue.
