The Cove at Lakefront Waterpark

In 2018, OpenAire was approached by the team working with the Town of Little Elm, Texas about the renovation of the local Little Elm Recreation Center including the addition of a new waterpark, The Cove at Lakefront Waterpark.

The Town of Little Elm is a part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is an extended suburb of Dallas, as such the city had heard of OpenAire’s other municipal waterpark, Epic Waters, located in nearby Grand Prairie, Texas.

Epic Water’s tremendous success and accolades, including its ability to offer year round activities and revenue to the municipality meant that the team reached out to OpenAire so they too could offer the same experience to their residents.

OpenAire worked with the local team at VLK Architects and Brannon Corp to create a one of a kind destination on the waterfront of town. The 42,000 sf retractable roof enclosure houses a multi level waterpark connected to the existing recreation center at one end. The Cove at Lakefront Waterparkopened in 2021.
